A remake of the popular JRPG

Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a premium roleplaying game from Square Enix Co. As the name suggests, this game is a re-imagining of the groundbreaking JRPG Final Fantasy VII. It featured various improvements to the original game and brought new bosses and additional episodes focusing on Yuffie Kisaragi.

However, while Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade delivered the expected action-RPG goodness that the franchise is known for, there were a few nagging issues. Players will find a few chapters far too padded, killing the story's momentum. Additionally, while there are improvements in the combat system, aerial combat isn't particularly good.

What does Intergrade offer?

Final Fantasy VII is one of the most iconic RPGs ever made. It gained worldwide popularity and fans clamored for a remake. In 2020, they got their wish with the release of Final Fantasy VII Remake. However, while it was a dazzling, polished game, there was only a portion of the original story arc. Worse, it condensed the first CD's plot into a single, expanded arc.

One year after the release of the remake, the fans got the Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade. As mentioned, it brings various improvements to the remake version. For one, it adds fresh story content to enjoy alongside the main campaign. It also features a side story starring the ninja thief Yuffie Kisaragi. Although, the missions do not go far from the core tale. Nevertheless, it gives you plenty to do after completing Cloud's scenario.

Unlike its forebears, Intergrade also uses real-time combat. However, this does not mean that its battle system is a thoughtless button masher. Numerous improvements went into the combat system, showing you virtually every game facet. There is also more to combat than building and spending ATB. However, one stumbling point is the aerial battles, which are not that good. Characters cannot manually jump, so aerial enemies are tricky to hit.

Yuffie episode with additional contents

As mentioned above, this game introduces an additional episode featuring the Wutaian ninja Yuffie Kisaragi. Alongside this new chapter, players can acquire additional armor such as the Midgar Bangle, Corneo Armlet, and Shinra Bangle. Accessory content includes items like the Mako Crystal, Superstar Belt, and Seraphic Earrings while summoning materia like Chocobo Chick, Carbuncle, and Cactuar are also available. Moreover, players can obtain the exclusive weapon Cacstar, designated solely for use within the Yuffie episode.

Impressive retelling

Overall, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is a fantastic re-imagining of an already impressive game. It features great visuals and addicting combat that fans would surely love. Not only that, but the new Yuffie side story provides additional fun. However, there are still a few issues present. However, they are not so big that they can affect your gaming experience.
